What this tool answers
You need a first-pass commercial dehumidifier class for a US basement, crawl space, or shop. The calculator scales floor area by moisture, then names the smallest class on this ladder (70, 125, 156, or 180 pints/day saturation) — or returns NO_MATCH.
Saturation vs AHAM
Merchant saturation pints assume very wet air. AHAM ratings at 80°F / 60% RH are lower (often about half on these VEVOR pages). Use saturation classes only as a transparent cover screen, then read the AHAM line on the listing.
Why a moisture factor
Damp and wet spaces need more capacity than dry control. Factors 1.0 / 1.25 / 1.5 are explicit screens — not a psychrometric load model.
When the answer is NO_MATCH
If effective area exceeds ~2,500 sq ft on this ladder, the site returns NO_MATCH. Split zones or use restoration equipment — do not force an 180-pint consumer class.
